Laconia Savings Bank Donates $14,000 to Rochester VITA Site

Tax time is just around the corner and Rockingham Community Action is teaming up with IRS certified volunteers and Laconia Savings Bank to bring free tax preparation to the Strafford County community.

Rockingham Community Action has been teaching individuals how to manage their assets for the past 5 years. The scope of the program includes reaching out into the community to find partners who are already offering expertise in areas of financial stability, filling the voids in financial education offerings and providing tax preparation free of charge.

“With the $14,000 generously donated by Laconia Savings Bank, Rockingham Community Action is able to build upon the tax preparation program, expanding it from one permanent site in Portsmouth to a recurring site in Rochester in order to reach Strafford County,” stated Patte Ardizzoni, Strategic Initiatives Director for Rockingham Community Action. “Working with the CASH Campaign of Southeastern NH, we are able to bring not only Earned Income Tax Credit dollars to those working taxpayers, but also make the communities of greater Rochester aware that there are ways to build upon their assets, to connect with services and other resources. All of this work couldn’t be accomplished without the kind of support offered by Laconia Savings Bank and the other members of the CASH Campaign of Southeastern NH.”
