Dover 2023 - Building Our Tomorrow

The City of Dover is starting the next round of Master Plan work. The basis for this first project will be developing a community vision for Dover. In the past they have linked this to the land use chapter of the Master Plan, but this time they want to think broader and get input on all aspects of living, working and relaxing in Dover. In order to be successful they need broad and engaged interactions with people in the Dover Community. They are developing and holding community conversations and neighborhood meetings starting March 10th and want YOU involved!

Can you see Dover's future? Help us visualize our tomorrow!

The City of Dover has changed significantly over the last decade. What will happen in the next?

Do you want more growth or less? Do you want more of the same? How about something else? NOW is the time to think about these questions and more. We need you to share your ideas and dreams for Dover. No idea is too small, no dream too big.

Developing a vision for our City is the key to building the community that we want to be.

Dover 2023 is a community wide project which will shape a vision for what Dover can be as it reaches its 400th anniversary in 2023. The project will host a series of community brainstorming conversations and neighborhood workshops over the next three months. These meetings will be the opportunity for you to tell us your dreams for the City! Your dreams and ideas will build a vision which will shape the City's decisions for the next decade and be the foundation for a new and improved tomorrow.

Dover Main Street News

We've got a lot of exciting news so please take a moment to catch up with all that is happening with Dover Main Street!!
First & Foremost we'd like to thank all of those who made our Dover Pride Clean-Up Day such a success! The weather was perfect, the turnout was great and downtown Dover is looking beautiful. The name of the event says it all, Dover Pride, and this was demonstrated by the over 300 volunteers who picked up trash, swept, weeded, raked, planted and mulched sites throughout the downtown.

Along with thanking our volunteers we would like to thank those businesses that generously supported this event. Centrix Bank was the event's underwriter, without them this event would not be possible. Reverie Design provided graphic design services. We would also like to thank the wonderful folks at Wentworth Greenhouses who donate to the beautification of downtown Dover year round and who assisted in providing plants for the facelift in Henry Law Park. In addition landscape designer Norm Fracassa of Fracassa Designworks generously donated his landscape design expertise to the Henry Law Park facelift.

Thank you to the Dover Kiwanis who kept our volunteers going all morning with their pancake breakfast. Thank you to Kaleo Coffee's mid-morning coffee delivery, as well as Seacoast Coca Cola Bottling Company's donation of soda and water to keep everyone hydrated. After all that hard work our volunteers were very thankful to Kendall Pond Pizza for donating pizza once again!

A big thank you goes to Dover's Community Services Department who assisted before, during and after the event. We greatly appreciate all of their hard work on this event and every day making our city look great. A special thank you to the city councilors and city staff who also participated in Dover Pride Clean Up Day; Mayor Myers, Councilor Carrier, Councilor Cheney, Councilor Weston and all City Department staff. Finally, thank you to site leaders who helped direct and oversee each site, your leadership is greatly appreciated.

And as always, we are continually looking for volunteers to help promote, maintain and assist with all of our programs. If you are looking to get involved at any level please feel free to contact me at director@dovermainstreet.org.

DOVER, NH — Winsor Brook Property Advisors and North and South Custom Builders recently joined the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce, and held a ribbon cutting ceremony in their new facility at 383 Central Avenue, Suite 150, located in the Cocheco Falls Millworks in downtown Dover. Also celebrating was Dover Main Street, which is being provided with office space within the new Winsor Brook facility.

After merging Winsor Brook’s Construction division with North and South in mid-2010, they have found their company growing at a fast pace, with North and South adding 20 new employees in the last several months. “In this economy, we are fortunate to be having such tremendous success where other companies are downsizing. We believe that there are opportunities for both companies to help position ourselves to be a long-term player in this competitive market,” stated Pete Johnson of North and South.

The new facility is three times the size of the previous office space, and will allow for projected expansions. “Our new headquarters will provide us with the facilities and infrastructure necessary to accommodate our next stage of growth. We have designed the offices to support our team approach, encouraging employee collaboration.” stated Jessica Smith of Winsor Brook.

A key player in the Dover Community, some of Main Street’s signature programs and initiatives include the annual Dover Pride Cleanup Day, Historic Reveals, Dover’s Adopt-a-Spot Program and the Taste of Dover, as well as other community events that are co-produced along with the Chamber of Commerce, such as Dover Dines Restaurant Week and the Seacoast Irish Festival.
