Northeast Credit Union Announces Children's Drawing Contest Winners

Ten winners of the Northeast Credit Union Children’s Drawing Contest were awarded with prizes today with each child artist receiving a ribbon, a customizable piggy bank, and $25 deposited into their MyFundsSM Savings Account. The drawing contest ran through the month of November and asked children to draw what they were most thankful for. Over 100 entries were received and the judges had a very difficult task in picking out just 10 winners among all of the colorful and thoughtful entries.

The winners are: Hailey Deming from Lee who was most thankful for “my house and my food and my life”, Emeline Friend-Gray from Nottingham who was most thankful for “my cats Gertrude and Albert”, Alyssa Holderbaum from Dover who was most thankful for the “Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Air Force and my family”, Robert Hotchkiss from New Durham who was most thankful for “trees because they help me breathe”, Destiny Lang from Manchester who was most thankful for “having a loving family”, Alex Magdziasz from Dunbarton who was most thankful for “sitting down to a Thanksgiving Dinner”, Sarah Masten from Portsmouth who was most thankful for “my friends, family, and pets”, Lukah Ready from Madbury who was most thankful for “my mom cooking us dinner”, Makenzie Tordoff from Deerfield who was most thankful for “my mommy and daddy, my house and French toast. Also butterflies”, and Chloe Walters from Raymond who was most thankful for “the world and Veterans.” Other notable items the children were thankful for included: clean pants, yarn, tacos, and being born on a grandmother’s birthday.

In keeping with its mission to help enhance its member’s financial well-being, Northeast Credit Union designed the contest to encourage children to learn about saving. Each child who entered the drawing contest received $5 deposited into their MyFunds Savings Account and an activity book that promotes financial literacy in an entertaining way. To further encourage savings, Northeast Credit Union will also deposit $10 into the account of any participant that makes a deposit into his/her savings account by December 31st. “This drawing contest was a great way to reach our younger members and provide them with a fun and creative opportunity to win some extra cash and jumpstart their savings,” noted Andrea Pruna, Vice President of Marketing for Northeast Credit Union.
