Portsmouth, NH – (June 5, 2012) – The Community School, a collaboration between Community Child Care Center of Portsmouth (CCCC) and The Portsmouth School Department's Early Education Program (PEEP), is relocating to Dondero Elementary School in Portsmouth next month. The Portsmouth School Department invited CCCC to continue its collaboration with PEEP after several years of success. CCCC has worked in partnership with the PEEP Program since 2001 at Community Campus to provide The Community School, offering seacoast children the highest quality early childhood education available.
"We are excited to continue The Community School within Dondero Elementary School," said Deborah Stokel, co-Operations Director of CCCC and Director of its Early Childhood Education Program. "A highly qualified staff, newly renovated classrooms, new equipment and materials will support the same quality, dedication, and expertise that we have offered families in the past."
The Community School serves both typically developing children and special needs children in the same classrooms. The Community School classrooms at Dondero will continue to be staffed by CCCC early childhood professionals as Lead Teachers, and Portsmouth School Department Special Educators who are experts in speech and language, physical therapists, and qualified support staff. CCCC will be upgrading to the Creative Curriculum TS Gold Online Curriculum System to be compatible with the public school initiative for school readiness and the future academic success of all students.
The Community School Preschool program follows the Portsmouth School Department calendar, and is open from 9:00am to 12:00pm, Monday through Friday beginning September 4th.
