Dover to hold Memorial Day ceremony on Monday


Memorial Day services in Dover will be held on Monday, May 28, 2012, at 6 p.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The guest speaker is U.S. Army Lt. Col. Paul Silver, Retired, a native of Dover.

James Parcell of the Dover Veterans Council and event organizer will serve as master of ceremonies.
Dover Mayor Dean Trefethen will begin the ceremony with welcoming remarks.

Other participants include the Rev. Michael Taylor of the St. Ignatius of Loyola parish in Somersworth; Gold Star Mother Marie McGlone of Dover, whose son, Michael, was killed in the Vietnam War; the Naval Jr. ROTC; Dover High School Boy Scouts; and the Dover High School Band. Soloist Marie Boudreau and Morgan Chelve will sing "God Bless America." The Gettysburg Address will also be recited at the ceremony.
