It has become evident that the FY2012 City of Dover Budget will require budget adjustments approaching $3 million in order to absorb the downshifting of costs being imposed by the State of NH and significant declines in non-tax revenues. Over the next several weeks, the City Council will be reviewing and ultimately determining priorities for funding of municipal services given the limited resources available.
With the expectation of significant reductions having to be imposed across all municipal departments, our staff have been fielding questions regarding what concerned citizens can do to register your opinions and offer constructive input in relation to the proposed City of Dover Budget.
All are encouraged to contact the Mayor, the City Council and the City Manager regarding funding priorities for our community. Citizen comment and involvement during the budgeting process is welcomed as it helps us to understand the value of municipal services and how various services contribute to the quality of life enjoyed by Dover citizens.
